20 Years Of RM Hard Hoses
The RM machine is celebrating over 20 years in Tasmania. During the 20-year partnership with Agline the RM Hard Hose has become known for its superior reliability, ingenuity of design and premium workmanship. First imported in 2000, the RM is easily recognisable in Tasmanian paddocks and continues to be in high demand. So what makes the RM a favourite with Tasmanian farmers?
Deon Gibson the Farm Manager at Premium Fresh explains why they continue to run an ever-expanding large fleet of RM machines.
Simple operation was a key feature for Deon. When speaking about the operation of the machine he said, “The easy to operate computers on the RM irrigators are a great benefit to us, very little staff training is required. You can go to the panel, and it will tell you almost everything you need to know”.
This seems to be a theme with the RM machines. Luke Whitley from Leeswood, where they have been running the RMs for over a decade, also mentions the ease of use as the machines best feature. He says, “RMs are really easy to use, they are an excellent machine! Very simple computers to operate”.
Agline says the most common feedback from farmers is that the way RM machines deliver water through the turbine to the sprinkler is the most efficient of the irrigators they have used, reducing ongoing energy costs. This is because of the cutting-edge design of the turbine, that creates a highly channeled flow of water, that allows the machine to operate at a very low pressure of (+/-) 1.5bar, which is amongst the very best available.
Deon also speaks about the RM machine’s superior drive mechanism design. He mentioned having serious complications with the drive systems on other machines leading to very expensive repairs and long downtimes. However, about the RM Machines, he said “The chain drive on the RM machine is great, it runs more smoothly than other drive setups. The drive systems on other machines can be very direct and aggressive and will vibrate considerably when you pull them out. You almost don’t want to stand next to one when it’s being run out. The chain drive on the RM is much smoother and easily replaceable so you get a much longer life span of the machine”.
Twenty years of feedback from Tasmanian farmers have made the RM the Hard Hose machine best suited for Tasmanian terrain. It is strong, reliable, efficient, stable, and easy to use, continuing to be a premium hard hose for Tasmanian farmers.
